A brief post-election note (which works for most elections)

A brief post-election note (which works for most elections): Neither side of the partisan divide got everything they wanted in this election, as far as I can tell (though one side is certainly going to claim they did, for a while at least).  If you have strong beliefs about the way the world is and should be, don't hide behind an election result as an excuse to stop politely sharing -- and rationally questioning -- those beliefs.  If you feel confident that you're doing important and beneficial work in the world, then keep doing it, to the best of your ability, and don't let election results -- whether wins or losses -- slow you in that effort.  Elections come and go.  Parties wax and wane.  Our shared and constant foes are ignorance and apathy.
